Cornerstone Kids is a nurturing nursery school located in the heart of Winchester Hills, South of Johannesburg. We offer a home away from home, where babies, ranging from four months to Grade R, are cared for, educated, and loved. The center grew from four children in 2009 to seventy-four, within five years. Thanks to the trust and recommendation that our dedicated parents have in Cornerstone kids. Our team of qualified and passionate staff is committed to providing individualized care, fostering curiosity, and nurturing each child’s unique potential. Cornerstone Kids has been blessed with competent, loving, friendly staff who are enthusiastic and passionate about playing a part in the development of children. Some began their journey at Cornerstone Kids since its inception. Our staff attend workshops and training on a regular basis with ICOMPLY, for self-enrichment and to improve their performance for the benefit of the children and the school. A school secretary and principal are always available to take your calls.
The staff is equipped with CPR and firefighting skills, making safety a top priority. No learner is left unattended. We maintain a ratio of five learners per educator.
At Cornerstone Kids, we believe that individualized attention is key to each child’s development and education. To ensure that every child receives the care and focus they need, we maintain small class sizes. Each classroom is managed by a qualified teacher, supported by an assistant, allowing for a personalized approach to learning and care.
Cornerstone Kids strives to be a leading nursery school, committed to meeting all its clients’ Early Childhood Development needs.
Our beginners, the babies, range from 4 to 18 months. They join the potty-training group when they are ready. Two fully trained practitioners provide love and care through feeding, nappy changing, floor-time exercises, and stimulation play, both indoors and outdoors. An age-appropriate, separate diet is served during feeding times.
Our wobblers range from 18 to 24 months. We hope these learners are potty trained before joining us, however, we have qualified and competent practitioners to assist in the potty-training process.
At Cornerstone Kids, we believe that children thrive on love, praise, and security. Our toddlers feel secure and sense the love surrounding them. They express themselves lovingly in return and excel because they are constantly praised for their efforts.
These vibrant, enquiring minded learners are soon ready for Grade R as they become more aware of themselves and their surroundings. They engage well during thematic discussions as they begin to explore the environment, realize seasonal changes and their birth- days. They discover the value of numbers, and perfect the developmental skills learned.
Our Grade R class is filled with lively learners ready to engage in daily activities indoors and out. We ensure individualized attention by keeping class sizes small. They become Cornerstone ambassadors when the transition to “Big school” takes place. The site is registered with the Department of Education.
